Kevin P. McLaughlin


With a broad background in litigation, Kevin McLaughlin is an asset to our Trial and Litigation Practice Group. He has represented a wide range of clients in areas such as personal injury and government tort claims, wage-and-hour suits, writ proceedings, and contract disputes, to name a few. Kevin has successfully represented clients in numerous class actions and other complex, multi-party cases. He regularly defends judges and other state court employees in a broad range of litigation, and has substantial experience defending claims arising under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He also has handled a wide range of labor and employment disputes, including such issues as wrongful termination, racial and sexual harassment, retaliation and unfair labor practices. Kevin also has experience in construction, surety, and inverse condemnation suits, and brings a strong knowledge of state and federal procedure to his representation of both plaintiffs and defendants.

While in law school, Kevin served as Articles Editor for the Hastings Communications & Entertainment Law Journal.  He also served as an intern for the City and County of San Francisco City Attorney Office’s Government Team, and worked as an extern to District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.  Kevin is admitted to practice in all courts in California and Hawai‛i, and previously taught legal writing and oral advocacy at the University of Hawai‛i, William S. Richardson School of Law.
